BEST LEADING ACTOR

  • Javier Bardem — Biutiful
  • Jeff Bridges — True Grit
  • Jesse Eisenberg — The Social Network
  • Colin Firth — The King’s Speech
  • James Franco — 127 Hours

Thoughts: Colin Firth has this one locked. Period.

Who Will Win: Colin Firth, The King’s Speech

Who Should Win: Colin Firth, The King’s Speech

BEST LEADING ACTRESS

  • Annette Bening — The Kids Are All Right
  • Nicole Kidman — Rabbit Hole
  • Jennifer Lawrence — Winter’s Bone
  • Natalie Portman — Black Swan
  • Michelle Williams — Blue Valentine

Thoughts: Natalie Portman is going to win this award, and although I love her performance, it’s a shame that Winter’s Bone won’t receive some love. Blue Valentine is also a great movie, and Michelle Williams offers an excellent performance.
