Halloween continues with Alamo Drafthouse’s ‘Re-Animator,’ ‘Rocky Horror,’ Hudson Horror Show

Although Oct. 31 has come and gone, the month of November promises to be equally ghoulish. Several venues across the United States are set to host horror-filled events that will scare any human with a pulse.

• Alamo Drafthouse’s new cinema in Yonkers will screen the classic Re-Animator starring Jeffrey Combs Friday, Nov. 8 at 10 p.m. Legendary horror host Joe Bob Briggs will introduce the screening. Click here for more information.

• The Days of the Dead festival will invade Chicago Nov. 15-17. Expected to attend: Danny Trejo, Ace Frehley, Jason Mewes, Sid Haig, Lita Ford, Gunnar Hansen, Heather Langenkamp and the cast of The Return of the Living Dead, including the last appearance by character actor James Karen. • The Home of Happiness, New Jersey’s Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast troupe, will offer its annual Halloween show Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Bellevue Theatre in Montclair, N.J. The showtime, of course, is midnight. Click here for more information.

• Hollywood Soapbox will attend the upcoming Hudson Horror Show, set for Saturday, Nov. 16 in Poughkeepse, N.Y. The movies selected for this biannual festival include John Carpenter’s The Thing, Escape from New York, Horror Express, Invasion of the Bee Girls and a secret fifth movie. • The Film Society at Lincoln Center will showcase several scary movies in its annual horror festival (running until Nov. 7). Included titles: Across the River, Afflicted, All Cheerleaders Die, Baby Blood, Cemetery Man, Cheap Thrills, Curtains, Death Weekend, Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno, Haunt, Let’s Scare Jessica to Death, The Nanny, Clive Barker’s Nightbreed — The Cabal Cut, Open Grave, Patrick, Proxy, Rituals, Twins of Evil and Willow Creek. Click here for more information.
