Film Forum kicks off horror, sci-fi fest with genre favorites

New York City’s Film Forum, one of the best movie theaters in the world, will kick off a summer horror and science fiction festival today, Aug. 9. The overall retrospective is a celebration of Ray Harryhausen and all things odd. Some highlights include screenings of Planet of the Apes, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, David Bowie in The Man Who Fell to EarthGodzilla, Psycho and Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3D. Several of the screenings are double admission, meaning two movies for the price of one. Double admissions can only be purchased at the theater on the day of the show. Single screenings are available online. Click here for more information. General tickets are $12.50. Seniors, children and members are $7.
