Chiller Theatre to feature Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett

Chiller Theatre, the biannual horror and Hollywood convention in northern New Jersey, has always grabbed the big names in the industry. For this month’s show, the stakes have increased considerably.

In addition to all the recognizable genre and film names, Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett will offer a rare book signing on Saturday, Oct. 27. If you haven’t planned ahead for this rare signing, you may be out of luck. The only way to get in and nab a scribble is by entering a lottery. Details can be found here. For those lucky fans who are able to grab a spot in line, Hammett will sign his new book Too Much Horror Business with a special Chiller Theatre slipcover. The price is $39.99, and it includes an additional autograph on an item of the fan’s choosing (note: he’s not going to sign guitars or pick guards).

Other celebrities attending Chiller, which will be held Oct. 26-28, include Joan Collins (Friday and Saturday), cult director Paul Morrissey (Saturday and Sunday) and Suspiria’s Stefania Casini. Zacherley will serve as the special convention guest.

Lee Majors, from The Six Million Dollar Man will stop by, plus Virginia Madsen, Julie Adams (Creature from the Black Lagoon), Tom Wopat and Keith Emerson.

Horror genre fans will appreciate the presence of Caroline Munro, Barbara Steele, Adrienne Barbeau and Linda Blair. Music fans can check in with Ace Frehley, original guitarist for KISS. Hollywood legends include Penny Marshall, Valerie Harper, Lee Meriwether and Aileen Quinn.

Pre-show tickets cost $20-$25. The festival will take place at the Sheraton Parisppany in Parsippany, N.J. on Oct. 26-28.
