The annual HorrorFind Convention comes to the Wyndham in Gettsyburg, Pa., from Friday, Sept. 2 to Sunday, Sept. 4. If you’re a True Blood fan, you’re in for a jam-packed weekend. If you’re an overall horror fan, you should have tons of fun, too.

Come celebrate HorrorFind’s 13th birthday (what an auspicious number!).

The headlining guests for the three-day event are Sam Trammell, who plays Sam Merlotte on HBO’s True Blood, and cult filmmaker, John Waters, who directed Hairspray, Pink Flamingoes and Cry Baby. Trammell will sign autographs for fans all weekend long, while Waters will only be present on Friday night.

A special note on Waters’ autograph session: The director will offer his scribble and take pictures with fans for free, but only for two hours. If you’re interested in this freebie, you need to first buy a convention ticket and then pick up a lottery ticket at registration. If you’re one of the lucky ones to receive a guaranteed spot in the autograph line, you’re good to go. He will sign from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday night only.

If you want the ultimate John Waters experience, try purchasing a ticket to his performance of “This Filthy Horror – An Evening with John Waters.” The ticket costs $110, and it includes a three-day pass to HorrorFind, reserved seating for the performance and a signed copy of Waters’ book, Role Models.

Other True Blood guests scheduled to appear include Ashley Jones, Brit Morgan and William Sanderson.

Also appearing will be Terminator’s Brian Thompson, pro wrestler Roddy Piper, Warlock’s Julian Sands, plus Bill Moseley and Sid Haig of Rob Zombie’s House of 1,000 Corpses. For an extra $50, you can get a photo taken with Haig in his Captain Spalding make-up and costume.

On the classic horror front, Plan 9 From Outer Space’s Conrad Brooks will greet fans, plus George Kosana and John Russo, of the original Night of the Living Dead. Ken Foree, of Dawn of the Dead, and E.T.’s Dee Wallace will sign autographs, as well as Phillip Friedman, of this year’s Insidioius.

Rounding out the celebrities are Amanda Wyss, Lisa Wilcox, Nivek Ogre, Jill Schoelen, Ashley Laurence, Scout Taylor Compton and Derek Mears.

Of the horror literary guests that will stop by HorrorFind, expect to see Brian Keene, Christopher Golden, Tim Lebbon and a host of other authors.

Unlike many other horror conventions, the Gettysburg event stresses the events as much as the celebrities. To that end, you’ll get to enjoy a costume contest, special screenings, readings from the literary guests, karaoke parties, a car show and seminars on Halloween and other things that go bump in the night.

On Friday, the vendors room is open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Celebrities will sign from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please note Waters’ limited autograph times above.

Saturday is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., while Sunday runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets are available at the door. Day passes cost $25, while weekend passes cost $45. Obviously, if you’re coming for more than one day, it’s best to purchase a weekend pass. The Wyndham is located at 95 Presidential Circle in Gettysburg, Pa.
